River Bourne Community Farm Education

We’re excited to share that all education at River Bourne Community Farm is now run by us, building on the success of our established River Bourne Edge Alternative Provision. We offer hands-on alternative education in Salisbury for primary through to sixth form.

Young Explorers Programme

Our Young Explorers programme is designed for primary children who thrive through practical, hands-on learning. Learners can:

  • Care for and work with animals
  • Explore river and woodland habitats
  • Grow vegetables and plants in our allotments
  • Develop creativity through arts, crafts, and cooking

Learners can also work towards AQA Unit Awards in a range of areas.

Secondary Pathways Programme

Secondary students can combine farm-based learning with academic study. They have the opportunity to:

  • Gain AQA Unit Awards across multiple subjects
  • Access our Pathways Programme, achieving recognised qualifications to support progression into further education, training, or employment.

6th Form

Our Sixth Form provision at River Bourne Community Farm offers a vibrant and supportive environment where students can thrive. Alongside a full curriculum, we also offer exciting workshops such as arts and crafts, photography, and cooking. For those wanting to develop key skills for the future, we also provide access to Functional Skills learning. With a wide range of opportunities both academic and creative, our Sixth Form is designed to inspire, engage, and prepare students for their next steps.
