Planting the future to watch it grow!

Our Forest School is beginning to take shape, and we are incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our students have shown. Over the past few weeks, students have been actively involved in planting trees, preparing the land, and helping to create a safe and inspiring outdoor learning environment for future generations to enjoy.

  When Students Become Staff

On Friday we turned the tables for a day of laughter, learning, and a little bit of mischief during our Role Reversal Day. For the morning, students stepped into the shoes of staff, taking on the responsibility of running sessions, guiding activities, and trying to keep everything on track.

Meanwhile, the staff had great fun stepping into the role of students, complete with some very convincing impressions! There was plenty of laughter as staff recreated some familiar student habits.

The students quickly discovered that being a member of staff isn’t quite as easy as it looks. A few even tried their hand at creative problem-solving… including a bit of bribery to see if that might work!

The day gave everyone a chance to see things from a different perspective, build empathy, and share some brilliant moments together. It reminded us that while we all have different roles, we’re all part of the same community and sometimes the best learning happens when we can laugh together.

A Very Special Reunion for Mitsy

Mitsy, our much-loved work dog, recently had a very special visitor. Now 18 months old, Mitsy continues to play an important role in our setting, offering comfort, calm, and plenty of tail wags to students and staff alike.

Last week, an ex-student returned to say hello, and it quickly became clear that Mitsy remembered her well. The reunion was full of excitement, affection, and a very happy dog who clearly hadn’t forgotten her friend.

Moments like these remind us how powerful the connections formed here can be, not just between people, but with Mitsy too. She has a wonderful way of making everyone feel welcome, even long after they’ve moved on.
